The concert ‘Korean New Waves’ showcases a tapestry of old and new sounds of Korean traditional music. The first half features contemporary compositions for the Korean Gayageum zither as performed by virtuoso Soo-Eun Kwak. Following Kwak’s recital, Korean daegeum flute player Hyelim Kim will lead a jazz ensemble from the Bath Spa university exploring new possibilities of Korean traditional and British jazz soundscape.
